Our approach

Our data governance framework

A structured starting point for assessing maturity and improving the way data and AI are managed.

Kellerton Data, Information and AI governance framework, 2026 H2

A framework that fits the organisation

Our framework brings together the processes needed to make data useful, dependable and responsibly managed. We adapt it to your organisation’s objectives, risks, systems and ways of working, or use your existing framework where one is already established.

The overview below retains four connected lenses. They apply across the data lifecycle, from collecting and creating information to using, sharing, retaining and disposing of it.

Processing

Make information usable

Data engineering, integration, automation and AI solutions. Understand how data moves through systems and processes, how it is transformed and how it supports business and customer outcomes.

Quality

Establish confidence in the data

Definitions, validation, observability, monitoring and assurance. Set useful standards, identify issues, agree responsibility for corrections and evaluate data and AI outputs in context.

Ethical

Use information responsibly

Consider appropriate use, fairness, transparency and potential harm. Connect data and AI decisions with organisational values and the people affected by them.

Compliance & risk

Keep accountability and control

Ownership, access, protection, oversight and evidence. Manage obligations and risks, including AI logging, agent autonomy and human review, with controls that can be operated and checked.

From assessment
to practical change

We use the framework to understand current maturity, agree priorities and design the roles, policies, procedures, documentation and tools needed to improve. Architecture and operations are considered throughout these four lenses.

The output is an achievable roadmap, with ownership and sequencing, rather than a template left for the organisation to interpret alone.
